Shearwater Wildlife Tours Sealife Pelagics are the perfect platform to observe some of Ireland's most impressive Sealife.

Our pelagics operate throughout the year from locations in West Cork. Trips are usually at least five hours duration and cover as much habitat as possible from inshore to pelagic. On all trips we set a chum trail (a fish and fish oil based luring substance) to attract Sharks and Seabirds to the boat which will be attended to by your onboard guide.

To date, our trips have been very successful with numerous sightings of rare and scarce seabirds along with the commoner species and several species of Whales and Dolphins along with Sharks, Seals, Sunfish and the occasional coastal Otter. These trips are a photographers dream and close up views of Dolphins and Seabirds are the norm.

It is recommended that suitable clothing be worn on our cruises. The weather may and often does change so this should be kept in mind. Also suncream and a hat should be worn as protection from the sun which can be harsh on fine days. Participants should bring a light lunch and refreshments as the sea air can encourage one's appetite. Seasickness tablets can be provided before we leave the pier.

Bad weather may occasionally force trips to be shortened or cancelled. All bookings on trips that are cancelled will be rearranged for an alternative date or fully refunded.

Outside of our advertised dates below, please feel free to enquire about other dates as we will do our best to fit you in. Accommodation can be arranged and transport to and from Cork airport can be organised. Contact us directly by phone or email for quotes and recommendations. We can take a maximum of 12 people + the 2 crew members on our Pelagics.

Prices include your boat, skipper, guide and chum costs. Pick up and drop off can be organised from Cape Clear Island. We will now be running Seabirding weekends based on Cape Clear Island. See that section for details. All trips from Baltimore will leave from the main ferry pier at 8 AM and return around 2 PM. We will contact you by email to confirm the details.
